Local refugee outreach- summer 2025

I am so grateful to have been able to help the local refugees from Afghanistan. It has truly been an amazing experience- from seeing how they interact, trying the food they make, to doing different types of activities with them.

One of the things that I was able to do that I had so much fun doing was when me and my friends were visiting one of the families, and one of the girls our age wanted to teach us how to do their cultural dances. It was so much fun to not only learn it but to also she the joy she found in dancing but also being able to teach us.

Another thing we are so grateful to be able to do is host birthday parties for the kids. This past summer we did a combined birthday party for 4 siblings. The party theme was Barbie Safari. We did games, made a photo booth, had pizza and cake. All of the kids had so much fun and seeing that was really special and fulfilling.
